Why is INFJ a walking contradiction? Introverted and people-oriented
psychologist Donna Dunning calls INFJs “compassionate visionaries” because they have a values-based focus that emphasizes the needs and feelings of people. This contradiction means that INFJs are torn between their need to socialize and their need for time alone to think.
Can an INFJ be realistic? INFJs are naturally insightful. We see the world the way it is, so we’re fully aware that it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows (realistic). In fact, we’re so empathetic and sensitive to other people’s emotions and problems that it can seem like there’s no hope at all (pessimistic).
Are INFJs altruistic? INFJs can be described as ‘altruistic strategists’; they usually work and lead through their vision of what is best for others and for the organization.
Do INFJs come across as cold? Some INFJs will be cold, sarcastic and very blunt or speak to someone only on a very superficial level. But when you’ve pushed them too far, taking advantage of their giving nature once too often or badgering them into doing things they don’t want to do, they will resort to the INFJ door slam.
